I actually like the draft the Blazer have. Scoot is a great pick. Murray is a wing that can contribute now. And Rupert is a defensive steal, low risk second round steal.
Maybe we can convert a few guys. But this was great for the Blazers.
Why does nba.com list J. Hood-Schifino at 6-4 but then in their analysis call him a 'big point guard, standing at 6-foot-6'? Weak. Anyway, I am not sure about the pick considering that the Lakers need to get better ASAP. Seems like a pick for the post-Lebron future, I guess.
Yeah but don't they need PG help? Idk who you draft at that position that helps you win now. Suppose you can deal it but maybe they were getting shit offers.
True, someone reliable to handle the ball is needed now (to lower Lebron's usage) and in the future -and Hood-Schifino has great potential - but I am just saying they had options with a better chance to be plug and play into the rotation. The front office of the Lakers hopefully has something up their sleeve that gives them a fighting chance to come out of the west in 2024 without completely sacrificing their long-term future, but if they had to err in any direction I wish it was towards winning now.
I was really hoping they would take Jaime Jacquez Jr. I think he's an instant contributor and would have fit Leborn's timeline. Plus he would have been an instant crowd favorite. I guess the Heat thought so too and picked him up 1 spot later.
Yes, that was my first thought too seeing Jacquez Jr. at the 18 spot. I thought maybe I was biased because of UCLA affiliation but either way he's seasoned as hell compared to all these one and done players. I feel like Miami picked him for just that reason, and I have no doubt he'll give them valuable minutes during their 2024 playoff run.
Community's still pretty new and there's not much in the way of mobile apps for Lemmy right now. Probably would have been more posters otherwise. I can't even login on my ipad through the browser, haven't been able to figure out why yet.
Jerboa works fine for me. I like it better than Baconreader, which I used for a long time, and definitely better than any of the other apps I tried for that one website.
Safari works for me. Better than Edge or Firefox on a PC.

In terms of apps, Mlem for iPhone (and possibly iPad?) is improving by leaps and bounds in the past two weeks. Still very beta, and as far along as the Android one Jerboa, but functional to a significant extent. A new version should be coming out this weekend.
Whitmore falling has to be one of the bigger surprises. Think he was still being mocked in the top ten before today. Also happy to see Strawther go in the first round, to the Nuggets no less.
Heard on the radio broadcast that scouts were worried about Whitmore's 'basketball iq', possibly from recent workouts? Whatever the fuck that means. Dude can obviously play well enough, has all the tools and talent, and is a steal for the Rockets at 20.
