Aside from wearing shoes, cause you're going to get hurt.
1: Try it while rolling, it is a lot easier to break friction when you are moving.
2: The board drifts a bit toe side when you do this type of shove it, predict where it is going to land and aim for that spot.
3: Jump higher to give the board time to finish rotating.
