I hope to bring two new people into the game. Hopefully not ruin their experience managing their gear too intensely.
My party usually goes however deep until we get bored of the mechanic, last league we barely made it to maps, this league looks to be much more party friendly/oriented.
Hopefully we get the entire armor set this time, have they announced the prizes yet?
Cool that you want to get people into PoE. I never did that, I don't know what people's succes rate in doing that is. PoE requires a particular type of slight brain damage to get into more deeply. :D
Usually I try to create a low budget build to do all the "standard" content: atlas completion, beating the league mechanic, all bosses, anything but Ubers really, as my janky builds normally aren't good enough for those. I guess that is what I'll do this time as well :)
Maybe I'll try the new chieftain, though I am not sure he is going to that powerful. Hopefully new gems and balance changes will create new build possibilities!
Do you try your janky builds first and go to the low budget "working" build if they don't work? Or do you use the regular build to provide funding for the janky builds?
I league start with my builds, I try to come up with something that can fund itself. For the most part it's fine, sometimes they are really nice even. Sometimes... Not so much. In sanctum I tried a Generals cry volcanic fissure berseker and that was not a fun time. I do the usual planning in pob and make sure the numbers look alright, but with new skills you just don't know how it is going to play like.
I do love running this experiment though and it keeps the game fresh for me.
I’m waiting for patch notes to decide but my candidates are:
RF inquisitor - never played block based build before and this seems like nice build and I like RF very much (played it twice)
bone shatter jug - thinking about trying a melee build for the first time
simple and cheap cheap bow - a possibility. Last time I played a glass canon bow build I quit early because it wasn’t fun for me. But that was a long time ago and I learned a lot since.
I usually try to best my record to maps of around 8h played. Then it's usually just playing 3 weeks and go as far as possible. That is usually with getting 4 void stones finishing atlas and getting around 32 to 36 before getting bored and life coming in the way again.
