The scrumpy and mead I have already made vs the scrumpy and mead I could make.

Well, clearly the brewery beer is fresher. :)
It's surprising how good some beers can stay though. I had a Battery Steele Golden Path lager in the fridge for months and it still tasted great.
Other times they do lose a bit.
