I made a support case since I'm a Visionary customer and supposedly they're keen to know my opinions. What I got back was how incredibly important my Visionary opinions are to them, and then just the same exact canned response as they had already posted.
Obviously it has nothing to do with the toll it takes on them to handle Mastodon in addition to Bluesky, so I'm leaning towards your explanation as well.
What exactly does that mean? I have switched to proton because of their open-source nature and to branch out from google. I don't really care what the proton founders are doing as long as my data isn't sold by google. In that case nothing will change for me, am I right?

As a Swiss national, please don't blindly believe you're immune because it's Swiss and that the Swiss law has got you covered. Swiss companies are just as shady as American ones.
I switched to https://www.inbox.eu/en/ which is a classical email service so probably not good if you are Palestinian journalist, but the proton walled garden started to piss me off. Their apps suck essentially, the fucking android app for mail truncates the subject so it becomes impossible to use when you are dealing with subjects with long prefixes. The calendar app didn't actually integrate with android at all, which is completely baffling. Couldn't give 2 shits about drive and docs or vpn
