It’s not like the whole NFL world doesn’t know Hackett did a terrible job, so Payton didn’t expose him. He just made himself look like an ass saying stuff people already knew.
As a lifelong Bucs fan, I might be lightly biased, but Payton should be careful as well. How many years can you go 7-9 in a row with a 1st ballot HoF quarterback and not be part of the problem?
This wouldn't be his first infraction as a coach though. Remember when he was with the Saints and was running that "bounty" scheme? Bad optics for a head coach. He deserved the suspension.

He's a colorful guy who might win games, but he's undeserved of a head coach spot, IMO. There's playing the edge, and then there's Payton. Better he's out.
