CEO of UnitedHealthcare fatally shot outside of NYC hotel, source says
  • Wonder if he was doing something genuinely good with his day or if he was on his way to a presentation with investors where they can gameplan new ways to capitalize on human suffering.

    Shame, we'll never know.

  • President Biden pardons his son Hunter Biden
  • This is how I feel as well.

The Democratic party has stood by at best and enabled at most. Are they better than Republicans? Yes, in that they don't actively do some things they allow Republicans to do.

A friend of mine described it as a dad (Republicans) molesting his kids. Mom (Democrats) know it's happening, but can't bring herself to do anything about it. Is mom better than dad? Technically yes?

Anyone advocating for working inside the system to change the system is hoping the person enabling your absuser finds a conscience. It won't happen.

Go no contact. Vote third party. Vote independent.

  • Anti-woke free-speech advocate disgusted to learn that his bathroom at home is gender neutral
  • Sort of. The pointed hatred of trans people is a symptom of a larger disease.

There is just a large portion of the population who responds with fear and anger towards things they don't understand. They're irritatingly tribal.

If they don't understand it, they want no part of it. They don't want to shit in a room with someone who is trans, gay, Muslim, Hispanic, anything different from what they are.

They don't want to shit with them, eat with them, work with them. Nothing. Not because they are trans, but because they are different. This is why trans rights are human rights. Because the special things that make everyone different drive some people toward hatred, and that's awful.

  • Starbucks wants a Bachelor's degree for a barista
  • From knowing a little about recruiting, if you have a bachelor's degree and apply, they're willing to drop one of their employees who barely finished high school.

It's not worth it to replace an underperformer with someone else who'll likely underperform. But if you can start with someone you deem "better" because they have a slightly more expensive piece of paper, it's more worth the risk.

  • Biden calls ICC warrant for Israeli PM 'outrageous'
  • Because it's self serving.

If Bibi is a war criminal for leveraging an admittedly horrible terrorist attack to commit horrendous atrocities, so is Joe Biden.

What the US did in the 2 decades post 9/11 is no better or worse than what Israel is doing now. Accountability for one means accountability for the other, and Biden doesn't want to be held accountable.

  • Can any women confirm?
  • My wife loves Wacoal bras. A couple years ago, she finally found one of their bras in a pretty blue, instead of the normal beige.

They called the color "goblin blue" which of course made her feel great.

  • The king Bernie Sanders based take.
  • My wife is a teacher, so we use her healthcare, but I still peek in at the healthcare at my job when enrollment comes along, just to be diligent.

It went up 20% this year, from $600 to $720. If you make $30K a year and got a 3% cost of living adjustment, you make less this year than last year from healthcare alone.

Food, gas, rent, cars, childcare, utilities, everything is up. I guess it's cool that US steel or something might be doing well, and the stock market is up, but that minimally affects the day to day of most people.
