China Suddenly Building Fleet Of Special Barges Suitable For Taiwan Landings
China is building at least five new special purpose barges which appear tailor made for amphibious assault. The barges may provide the PRC (People's Republic of China) with a unique way to offload large numbers of tanks directly onto Taiwanese roads.
But trump is anti-china so he'll defend Taiwan... right? Right?

It's a shame how much human ingenuity is only deemed viable (from a resource expenditure standpoint) in a military context. A barge with a retractable cable-stsyef bridge is cool AF. Fighter aircraft probably feel amazing to fly - their performance characteristics must be fun AF to experience. But they're so resources intensive to operate that it only makes sense in a military context.
You don't build the world's largest navy because you don't intend to use it.
