Samsung's 'AI Subscription' plan for phones, tablets is coming next month
Samsung is reportedly planning to bring the 'AI Subscription Club' plan to South Korea and the USA in February 2025.
Are they promising to put all their AI shit behind a pay wall? Fantastic, means i won't have to deal with it on my phone

11 0 ReplyYeah but paying doesn’t make it go away either. The Samsung pay app on my S9 used to have ads to buy the S9
1 0 ReplyThat’s what custom ROMs are for.
2 0 ReplyI have considered this possibility, I think that would be the point I explore fdroid or similar

Oh yeah, if there's anything people (regular consumers) are excited for, it's the ability to pay to use AI.
I don't know anyone paying for copilot who isn't using company money to do so. Same with openai, gemini...
16 0 Replybecause thats what the people want, ANOTHER subscription service!

10 0 ReplyYeah they want it as much as they want AI so like not at all. Good riddance to both!

i mean it's a good idea for people who can't buy phones but logistically i have no idea how it's sustainable
1 0 ReplyGood luck with that.
4 0 ReplyNext month, Samsung will open its AI Subscription Club, a subscription plan that lets you rent/subscribe to Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The AI part in the plan's name indicates that it will be available for devices with AI-powered features.
Which genius thought of this dumb ass name???
