Yes. Although I don't know what you mean with "software comparability".
I am still on the stock Android it comes with, which works fine but is still infested with Google stuff. I am not sure about the state of alternative ROMs, but I think it is not bad given how relatively new the hardware is. Personally I plan to switch to PostmarketOS or Mobian once that support matures a bit, but it seems to be almost there now.
I bought one a couple of years ago, still use it. It's not that bad, just don't expect any crazy fluff. It's the compromise one makes for a sustainable future. Cheaper than most flagships.
Yea, because It's not a flagship, it's got a crap proc that even the Tensor 2 beats. The Tensor 2 proc that has been widely regarded as the worst processor.
And 6 GB RAM on the base model? What‽ What year is this‽
You have to really prioritize the Fairphone mission and accept all the compromises you have to make
I don't understand why people need so much processing power in a phone?
If you really need mobile processing power and can tolerate a larger device, even a cheap, old, shitty, crusty, used laptop would likely offer a better experience.
As if 10 years ago we didn't do just fine with phones like the fairphone 4. It's just ridiculous to me that you mock its processor like it's not even a functional phone.
You won't be more content with your life by always reaching for more. It's a capitalistic and consumer mindset. Bound to fail in due time.
What good is a 124 GB RAM phone when the world is uninhabitable.
