Yeah, I feel due to the environmental catastrophe certain pets (which are usually invasive) can wreck ecological systems, I feel there needs to be a tax or fine system that if your pet/pets is not sterilized or you are a registered breeder that follow certain regulations, to prevent these pets from being abandoned into an ecosystem and reproduce. But honestly after they are in the ecology extermination is the sadly one of the most effective ways to restore the natural balance the the ecological system. Not the hunters fault, it's all the reckless owners of these cats fault
People who let their cat roam are shit.. It's irresponsible and entitled, it's detrimental to the environment as well as your cat. Can you imagine if dog owners just opened their doors at night to let their pet roam and fuck up everything around? We'd rightly have them charged and their pet taken away. You don't think cats belong inside? Don't get one then. If only for your own cat's safety, keep it on your property

Fuck Australia because we control destructive pests? Righto, guess we should let them destroy the native wild life to this country. We do the same with kangaroo, fox and wild pig populations. Should we also just let them destroy crops and farmland?
