Road work? sure hope it does

This road. It just doesn’t work. It just lays there all day.

And yet theres never any construction crew there working. A conspiracy theory I have is thats how they store traffic cones when not in use. Just shut down 1-2 lanes of a freeway for several miles.

My county started doing work on a section of high traffic road one summer a few years ago. They ran out of money to fund work on it, so it legit just stayed that way for like 2 years.

They had no problem finding $3m to build a whole new high school gym at the same time though.
It pisses me of so much! Years and years of construction on these long term projects, bit there's never anyone around. Like they work 4 hours overnight and call it good.
Well, they could pay the construction companies to focus on one project, do teo shufts and get shit done in a month, but that would cost like 30% more, so instead it is just going on in the regular pace for 6 months

Literally hell on Earth. I had to drive through Pennsylvania a few times in my life, specifically that part where the interstate stops being an interstate for like 3 blocks.

I'm not making this up. The interstate stops being an interstate, forces you to go through this town built for and around everyone being forced to stop there, then you get back on the next interstate.

But all along the way, for my entire life it has been under construction. Iirc, it goes down to one lane, and it takes like an hour to get through it.

Honorable mentions: I-4 in Orlando, and 66 West in Northern Virginia, fucking awful, they will always be under construction.
- Sounds like you're talking about Breezewood, PA where I-70 connects to the PA Turnpike, but there isn't a direct connection. It's an infamous stretch of highway with the truck stops there pretty much providing all the jobs in the area. Seriously, there's like nothing else there.

  If people would stop building mcmansions way out in Front Royal and Winchester and commuting into DC, we wouldn't have to add a lane and rearrange it every two years.

The best signs are "this road will be closed from this date to this date, between the times X until Y" swiftly followed by the sign "lol we lied it is closed right now! Fuck you, take the worst backroad possible because the best diversion was halfway back!"

South of King City the 101 has been "under construction" for at least two years. I have not seen any evidence of any change to the road in that time. Just the 55 MPH speed limit where it used to be 70.

That is definitely Ohio. But if we construct hard enough, I truly believe my city can assimilate Ohio like we're close to devouring our surrounding towns
