I don't generally protest, but this seems like one of the better ones we've had here recently.
I probably won't join, but I probably will go and laugh about how 2000 cops armed head to toe in riot gear get scared and try to kill people. I'm calling it now. Somebody's gonna die or get seriously injured

It seems that they've invoked the terrorism act, and also the weapons control act and declared the area around MCEC a designated area from yesterday until the 15th. Basically, if you enter this area, to protest or not, you can be searched, including your bags, or car, or "anything in the possession or control of the person". They can use "as much force as is necessary", and they can also tell you to take off any head coverings or fuck off. If you don't, that's a crime. If you don't take off half your clothing, that's a crime. If you refuse a pat down, that's a crime.
Sounds like something out of a futuristic dystopian movie.

I haven't seen a terrorism act invoked in my state but police have called a few designated areas this year and they bring the cavalry mounted troops to most protests.
I’m calling it now. Somebody’s gonna die or get seriously injured
Big ten-thousands protests generally try to be more big-tent than radical, so as eager as police are to make a show of force against anti-military protesters, my bet is that it will be limited to shoving. But honestly, I won't be shocked if your call turns out right.
That's probably the optimistic way to look at it. I don't feel so sure that's the only reason for pulling 2000 cops from every corner of the state though
Unfortunately not. I need to park nearby in case I have to go to another one of our work locations out west. Public transport isn’t an option for those locations, and I need my vehicle.
