Public Service Announcement: it's also always "free to keep" without installing the totally-not-sus EGS app. 🌊 "Free to keep" is a purely marketing term they're doing their damnedest to normalize. Fuck that shit.
Chill dude, all it means is that it is a) free to claim, and b) you get to keep it as in you don't just get to trial it for a weekend which is commonly seen with "free weekends" on steam.
Id rather pay double than use EGS
I've never used EGS, I just claim through their website and play through Heroic. And I've only installed a handful of the games I've gotten from them, and I think I've purchased a few through Steam that I already claimed through Epic.
Regardless, there's no way I'm installing EGS. If I can't play through Heroic or another launcher, I'm not going to play it.
Played it for a few hours: It's melee heavy. Excessive jump scare attempts. Music Is beyond obnoxious trying to "scare" you. Plus no suit upgrades so far. You can stealth kill enemies but it's rare to have chance. Since it's almost always an ambush.
