THOUGH AUTHORITIES CONTINUE to investigate potential motives for the deadly shooting at a Donald Trump campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, Sen. Ron Johnson is wasting no time in declaring a scapegoat: schools.
Um, how about we blame school shootings on GOP politicians who refuse to regulate guns? The shooter used a AR-15, which definitely qualifies as a weapon of war.
“I’m hoping that one result from Moms for Liberty,” the senator said, “is we start moving away from these massive, large schools, and we start moving more toward, you know, the old one-room school.” The comment drew a smattering of applause from the audience.
Oh, would you look at that. It get’s even more stupid.
Something tells me they've never considered how much property would need to be government owned to support one room of students per school, not to mention 100 times the support staff for each location. Also, one room for all grades? No, for every grade forever because even if you don't have a 7th grader today they might move in tomorrow
It’s crazy they actually do think that arming teachers is a good idea. That’s just introducing even more guns to the classroom and increasing the chance of an accident happening.
As for his dad owning the AR-15 Thomas Matthew Crooks used to shoot Trump, I found this article:
Crooks used an AR-style rifle, which authorities said they believe was purchased by his father. Kevin Rojek, FBI special agent in charge in Pittsburgh, said that investigators do not yet know if he took the gun without his father’s permission.
I guess it might depend on if his father gave him permission or not. Even then, Thomas Matthew Crooks was also an adult, so I am not sure laws pertaining to how well the gun was secured will apply.
