Japanese re-enactors in Sengoku Jidai era (16th century AD) armor and matchlocks

It is still interesting to me that they developed a completely different stock design after seeing European designs.

Might actually make more sense for the kind of fighting of the period. If there isn't a premium on individual accuracy, it is just more weight.
