  • Just because you may not like the truth doesn't make it a lie. They don't have a pathway to 270 even if there is a mathematical possibility. Just because something is possible does not make it plausible.

    • Yes, that is why Jason said "potentially win 279 electoral college votes"

No one is talking absolutes, when talking about a non status quo party winning.

Just because something is possible does not make it plausible.

True, but the problem at hand has much more to do with the legacy media framing and talking points, so as to downplay other contenders that have a 'possibility' of winning said electoral college votes.

  • Imagine she wins. Now what? In case you haven't noticed, being president only gets you so far in Washington.

    • True, but it would be a great win for someone outside of the duopoly to win.

It would be a major event around the world, a first in our generation that a non status quo party is elected.

Here is her platform, for what she plans to do when elected:

      • I've voted Stein before when it was absolutely safe to do so in a blue enclave, but only as a protest vote - which is absolutely what's for sale here.

Look at what she does, not what she says. If you were building the Green Party to be viable for leadership, you'd work on getting your people elected locally, building firmer footing with your funding and campaign offices across the country so you could run ads, mount larger campaigns, set policy, and build the apparatus to actually rule by getting House and Senate seats. Then you'd campaign very credibly for the white house.

Instead she runs every year straight for the white house with little funding, no real political machinery, and a great feel-good message. Why? Once she had a toehold in the house and senate with a growing team of elected people, she'd actually be calling shots and building coalitions.

Is that what she wants? Or does she just want to run for president every time and never get there? Because that's all I see her doing.
