I helped raise my younger siblings, and I love them dearly. But it also showed me I don't want to have kids. I want to be child-free.
Sometimes, people tell me that I might change my mind or that I'll regret not having kids.
Those people can fuck off and get lost, preferably forever. They only want to validate their own worldview and don't care the slightest for the people they want to dump this doctrine on.
What about the people that regret having kids?
Im the youngest of 5. My parents were quite absent and I was mostly raised by my siblings. They all had kids very young and I was around to help with their babies and young children.
I feel like I’ll never have the benefit of not knowing what pregnancy, birth, and having a young baby means for women. My friends who have kids had them not knowing and going in blind can be a shock but I also feel like if people knew it’s affect on your body and life and relationship up front, I’m not sure as many people would be making the leap.
Anyway. It’s great she’s making choices that work for her. And may god and lucifer bless all those older siblings that helped raise their younger ones.
