Walked past the Australian Red Cross opshop in Bridge road during lunchtime - They're doing a sale of jeans for "from $5". Which is a huge discount on their regular prices. Their stock is good but comparatively exxy imo.
Red Cross is the rip-offiest op shop.
Brotherhood of St Lawrence and Salvos also can be way overpriced.
My local salvos would like a word. Used Scrabble game (with missing letters probably) was priced at $15.
Haven't been to a salvos op shop since I was looking for a cheapish but not terrible couch and they were selling one of those cane ones with foam cushions from the 70s for $300!
That's just taking the piss to another level. My daughter loves op shops and Salvos is the closest. Generally I find savers to have the best deals and the best selection.
