  • Kebabs in the city leave a lot to be desired honestly. I have no decent recommendations

  • Our windows are single glazed, and since the house was built in the early 90s, the glass thickness is 0.5 mm less than the current standard. We had to replace a pane a few years ago, and the installer had to widen the channels in the frames cause they were slightly too small.

We do have roller shutters and curtains which help with the cold slightly.

For the window seals, if you're planning on replacing them eventually, run silicone or sicaflex along the edges. Doesn't look flash, but helps a lot.

  • more effort made on occasion when visiting 50 Lonsdale.

Not too much effort I hope. Don't be showing up us regulars there :)

  • 17 is just lovely. Getting the bins was a rude awakening. Roof on one my neighbour's houses shows a perfect frost line as the sun moves

  • Yikes!

Since putting in hybrid flooring over our old tiles, indoor temp downstairs has gone up about 5 ° in the winter.

    Best investment ever

  • Hahaha...yeah exposure is definitely more a thing in Canada. I don't get why someone would choose to be uncomfortable, even for a few minutes. The cap example is hilarious. If you're worried about ruining your hair, you're not going to wear a hat regardless. Throw a beanie on and keep the ears warm dang it!!

  • 14° downstairs at 645 this morning. Thermometer is nears the front door so probably the coldest place in the house. Not too bad all things considering.

  • Coming from a colder climate, it amazes me how much emphasis there is here for 'looking the part' instead of being comfortable.

  • As we get older, we realise that not everyone is a positive addition to your life. Obligations to friends (and family) diminish as you start looking out for yourself and your family.

  • It gets to a point when people need to face consequences of their actions and decisions.

You can empathize with them without putting yourself out there to help.

There is plenty on your plate to deal with, without the additional complexity of someone's problems.

A diplomatic answer is "I'm sorry that's the situation you're in, but we currently don't have the time and capacity to help". If this person persists and keeps asking 'why not', maybe stop talking to them. 'No' is a complete sentence.

White for home and gym and black ones for work.

  • Oh look, I understand that health spending was mad at the time for many reasons.

I also think that in such a unique case of a global pandemic, overreacting is better than a relaxed approach.

The data from places with minimal restrictions is pretty telling.

I imagine that anyone in a position of authority would have done similar given the situation.

  • Money was spent cause it had to be. Everyone was working with limited information which in hindsight looks like an overreaction.

Doesn't help that we've got massive infrastructure projects going over budget and money is tight in the state.

This would be a perfect time to raise revenue by taxing resources and such,.and sharing it with the states.

    Anyway, just my two cents

  • Can confirm. My kids are all about loose and comfy wear.

Big jeans, big jumpers. Even a touch of flannel.
