... after today he has won stages in four consecutive grand tours: 2 in TdF, 3 in the Vuelta, and one in the Giro.

He has really come into his own the last year
- I was gonna say something snarky about his WC win but I'm think I'm guilty of some internal revisionist history. He really didn't win anything else around then but in my head it wasn't as left field as that.
  
  Haha, yeah I remember I started getting into pro cycling again the year he was in the rainbow jersey, and not knowing his age thinking maybe he was someone who had passed his peak since I never saw him win anything.
