A total conversion mod project, re-imagining Morrowind in the Skyrim engine.
We're remaking Morrowind as a total conversion mod for Skyrim. We've been on Mastodon for a while now, and today seems as good a day as any to also start sharing on Lemmy. Looking forward to seeing this community grow!
Sick! I never actually played morrowind, but so much of the lore stems from that game, I am waiting to sink my teeth into it. Really excited for Skywind.
We're just as excited to get it finished and release it to the world! It's an insane amount of work, and the Creation Engine doesn't offer many shortcuts.
I've been waiting for this for so long, but I'll wait as long as I need to for it to be finished! I've never really played through Morrowind so it will be a brand new adventure for me.
Kind of you! There's no escaping the fact that it's fundamentally a Skyrim mod, but we do try to change the flavor as significantly as we can to make it both fun and a little different.
There was no way of escaping Enderal being a Skyrim mod, too, yet it's one of my favorite action RPGs of all time. I'm sure y'all will do a stellar job!
OpenMW is an incredible project that goes a very long way to making Morrowind easily playable on modern machines. I can't really comment on the (theoretical) possibility of the same for Skyrim, it's not our area of expertise - but on paper, at least, I would guess so?
