Former Arkane designer says Dishonored 2 cost more to make than Skyrim, and while it didn't meet Bethesda's sales expectations, the series' reputation still 'saved the studio'
I agree. I'm playing through part 2 right now, as I just finished part 1 a few days ago. I have to say so far part 2 is really good but it's just lacking something that part 1 had. I think my biggest issue is Corvo having a voice. I didn't think it would bother me but considering he is totally silent in the first game, him talking to himself in part 2 is just jarring. I probably should have played as Emily instead.
I just played through both and it’s definitely 2. The graphical difference between the two is actually absurd, and the QOL changes, level design, and two main characters pushes it into a separate league from the first. Only thing about 2 that isn’t better is the voice acting. The VA is HORRIBLE in D2 it’s actually kind of distracting. No thanks to Vincent D’onofrio who is an atrocious actor.
I started replaying the first one last week. We really had no idea how good we had it back then. I don't think we'll ever get another experience like that again.
