New York State Police arrested 35-year-old Jerica J. Costich, from Rochester, on charges of rape after an allegation that she had an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old detainee at the Industry Residential Center.
That story is ridiculously short on details. Is it statutory rape because they were under 18 at the time? Was it coerced sex? Did she violently assault him?
I'm not saying I want a play-by-play, but the tiniest bit of information about what happened would help.
The New York State Police in SP Rochester have arrested Jerica J. Costich, age 35, of Rochester, on charges of Rape 3rd (E Felony) following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old detainee at the Industry Residential Center.
An investigation revealed that Costich, a Youth Support Specialist, engaged in sexual activity with the victim within the facility.
Costich was processed at SP Rochester, and Costich was transported to Rush Town Court for arraignment and released on her own recognizance. Judge Ryan Lang issued an order of protection, and Costich is expected to reappear on February 2, 2025.
Actually, you started this debate. I wasn't debating with anyone. You just decided to start arguing with me about it.
I'd say talk to a few rape victims and ask them if they feel that there are different degrees of rape, but I have a feeling you'd just tell them you know better than they do and then tell them that they were the ones who decided to argue with you about it.
What makes you think there is any outrage or anger from me? Please quote what I said that makes you think so.
Edit: It makes me laugh every time people downvote me for not being angry. I always picture some person absolutely incensed that I dare not be angry about it and furiously pushing the downvote button.
Yup. It starts at simple sexual assault, and gets higher punishments for using violence, drugs, assaulting a minor, and/or abuse of a position of power, as it should be.
