Fuckin' hell, you pay that much for school photos?
I would start a competing business offering them for half
The school would just keep charging the same and pocket the difference. The joys of for-profit education and/or underfunded public schools!
You didn't want to even know how much the special Senior Picture Package costs.
For real! Whoever is school photographer has it figured out.
I wonder if OP's kids went to a prestigious private school?
If they're anything like my high school, they have a deal with the photographer. They'd photograph basketball games at a reduced rate and in return the students had to use that studio if they wanted to be in the yearbook
