I’m starting to think there wasn’t one to begin with… I’ve been talking about this to a close friend of his, and he said that he does gay things sometimes but isn’t gay. 
i wish i did have some news, man. i’ve never found a good time to tell him. even so, im so worried he won’t want to be friends with me anymore if he does turn out to be homophobic

hey bros, i’ve been a lurker on lemmy ever since the silly reddit API thing happened, and i think this is my first post?? anyway, there’s this guy on my high school’s robotics team that i really like. i should mention that this is a private christian school in oklahoma which is why i’m making this post in the first place. im unsure if this guy is really straight though. you see, he goes out of his way to see only me. maybe he’s just a really great friend who wants to see me, maybe not. but also the night before our state competition, he uh, let me sit on his lap and later on he uh…spooned me for a solid 2 minutes after the other guy in our airbnb we were staying at for the night fell asleep. he kinda played it off at the end like he was messing with me and maybe he was but i’m not sure. there’s some other stuff too like the way he talks to me. he doesn’t talk the same way to anyone else. i really want to ask him out but im just really worried how he’ll take it. pretty much all the guys at my school except a handful of them are homophobic…

super late reply but that first story is similar to what’s going on with me right now. i’m currently in high school and there’s this guy i really like on my team (we are in FTC). on the night before our state competition, my team was staying at an airbnb and once we were going to bed, he uh, cuddled with me for a good 2 minutes once the other guy in our room was asleep. idk if he was trying to mess with me since that’s kinda how he is but either way it was awesome. i should note that he really likes to hang out with me one on one during class. in fact, in chapel at our school (we go to a private school), he asked me to sit by him. i usually sit alone and he knows that, so it was really amazing that he asked me to sit by him and of course i did. maybe it’s just wishful thinking in my end and he just wants to be a really good friend but god he’s amazing.

i’m honestly not sure. i should probably ask the school IT guy because he had to ban a few people from using chromebooks. we are allowed to download things so that’s probably it though.

wish i could say i’m surprised. i’m gen z myself and i’d say i’m pretty decent with not being an idiot with technology. i do the usual stuff like running firefox + uBlockOrigin and i’m also a linux user. anyways, people at my school are just… so dumb with technology. a bunch of people have lost permission to use their school chromebooks and a computer at school because they got malware on it. either by going to a pirate site or just clicking a random download button (my school doesn’t allow us to use adblockers). not to mention that most of them believe that macs cannot get malware. so yeah, i’m unfortunately not surprised with this
if you’re using an iphone, you can sideload uyou+enhanced through Altstore. it comes with an adblocker, shorts blocker, sponsorblock, a downloader and more.
there is a browser on ios that can use chrome and firefox add-ons. it’s called orion. i haven’t checked if it’s open source or not, but ublockorigin works pretty well on it

If that does happen, can’t we just spoof our user agent to be chrome?
