I don't see anything recent about a Mark III. What did you see?
Oh I see, so that's by design... That list of instances is pretty long so I imagine an index of all their communities would be huge... and there's not separate "list of communities" and "posts within an instance" indices I assume? Is this something I should ask the lemmy devs about
Oops, I misremembered. OP said /r/fossdroid not /r/fdroid. Thanks!
I am not subscribed to [email protected], but that one doesn't show up in community search.
Couldn't reach midwest.social until I manually entered URL
https://midwest.social/c/chicago
Both instances are on each other's list of linked instances but I couldn't get there from here via search. I had to manually add in /c/[email protected] in the address bar and subscribe from there before it started showing up in search. Is that normal...?
Provided you're using a caldav server (I use one from my email provider) any client that has full CalDAV support will work. Thunderbird comes to mind.
OP, how old was this post? Now that the subreddit has gone private, that data isn't available.
requires one’s Facebook data for functionality
No, I've used it recently, doesn't require Facebook. At least in the US. It has the option to log in that way, sure, so do many services.
But otherwise you're right that it's a privacy nightmare.
On Cyclofix, I see that it's a bike rental location (the key icon), its name such as "Sacramento Blvd & Fulton St"... but I don't see the brand name, which is pretty important if I want to know what website to give it.
I see that this location is titled "Bike repair/shop Let's Roast Cycles". The key is a fine icon for a bike rental spot, I think (I'm not seeing other bike racks/stands? why's that) but I feel every name should be preceded by a word or two saying what type of thing it is, such as "Divvy bike rental" or something.
