Russia did the same to Ukrainians last year and EU & NATO & UN supported Ukraine. Now they support Israel.

Author Arundhati Roy may face prosecution in India over 2010 speech
  • He is. He and his political party have been called out by Arundhati both on domestic and international stage. She has been and is aware of the risk to her life & liberty, yet has refused to be silenced. A few days, she attended a ''free the press' protest against the persecution and arrest of one of India's leading jounalists, Prabir Purkayastha, founder of newsclick.in and Amit Chakraborty human resources headof newsclick.

  • International Commentators Slam Modi's BJP for anti-Semitic Poster
  • subtlelity and religious extremeism?

Hindu extremeism is the religious extremeism of India's majoritarian religion fuelling hate & fear of Muslims & Christians.

This stuff is tame compared to what Modi's IT cell (modi and his political party's army of paid social media trolls) usually puts up on social media, and that stuff is tame compared to the violent hatespeeches publicly given by Hindu extremeist leaders, including Modi, targetting Muslims and Christians.

India has national elections next year, and the corrupt Hindu extremeist dictator Modi and his political party are terrified of losing, so all India is braced not just for an uptick in violent images & hatespeeches but for actual genocide of Indian Muslims & Christians. The ethnic & communal genocide of Indian Kuki-Zo tribes (mostly Christians) by Hindu Meiteis in Manipur that started on May 3rd'23 has been transformed into a bloody civil war which India's Modi govt has taken no steps to stop.

  • Deaths rise to 47 after an icy flood swept through India's Himalayan northeast
  • Govts in India create large and expensive infra projects based on what the current political party, bureaucracy, private companies, international banks/ funding agencies want. Project sustainability, cost, environmental feasibility, land rights of the indigenous residents, fragility & biodiversity of the hills don't matter.

The first Teesta III dam was destroyed in an earthquake, as this is a seismically active zone. Environmnetal and technical experts warned against building the 2nd Tessta III dam (this one that has burst), because of the danger that any of the 313 glacial lakes upstream were growing larger due to theglacier melting and would burst in a GLOF incident (which just happened). Sikkimese people who had lived for generations in the hills were displaced, their land rights ignored, and the unique fragile biodiversity of the land laid to waste. Yet, India's enviromental ministry gave it the go-ahead and the project is classified as a green, clean and renewable energy. The Teesta III project also cost more than the GDP of the state of sikkim where it is/was located.

NYT assists Modi govt's assault on India's free press : Statement on Worldwide Media Holdings’ investment in NewsClick
  • Money makes the world go round. If they think they can make money, western democracies will support any dictator and refuse to
take any action against the dictatorship. Only when their investments are in danger, will corporates & the world stop treating a dictator and his religious extremeist fuelled dictatorship with kid gloves.

eg : What sanctions has China faced for its genocide of Uyghurs? Even now the west refuses to sanction companies that do business with/in Russia, despite the very clear evidence of genocide of Ukrainians.
