It's unlikely she would have given consent for this photo to be online
Great news, this is exactly what Oxford Street needs if it wants to keep it a decent shopping destination. Last time I went I saw way too many closed shops and dodgy American sweetshops
I'm a data analyst that's started to do more data science stuff (learning SQL/python) but not sure I would quite class myself as technical yet.
Not on your instance but it's so good to see unequivocal inclusion and support for the trans community. There should be no room for bigotry of any kind.

The best thing about being an adult is the freedom to do what you weren't able to as a child imo.
No but they're here (and we should be being as inclusive as possible if we want Lemmy to be successful), so it makes no sense to shut the doors on them just because a couple of people don't like seeing /s .
Why should we exclude neurodiverse people from a space when it's easy enough to make it accessible?
Agreed but I do think that's because the nature of the sub was more academic though, so having some kind of rigor makes sense. Not sure that's the model to follow for every community
Have those been defined? I'm never sure what 'hot' means in this context
I appreciate that. What bugs me is when people don't read the name of the sub they're in though - if it's askUK or casualuk then maybe it's not the place to talk about America, particularly when it's an advice thread about laws for example.
Just some self awareness would be good.
I binge eat unfortunately. Jaffa cakes are good for this, so I've banned them from my home.
The latest Jerboa update does seem to have fixed that fyi
Could be due to the version of the instance you're on. Beehaw is on an older version and Jerboa crashes when you open it as Jerboa is on the latest version.
I know it sounds ridiculous but I would feel a bit bad for blocking a community just because I couldn't understand the language.
What a start to the day
Yeah I did wonder if it might be an outdated thing!
UK- we don't boil water here unless there's an issue with the pipes. I got told not to drink the water in places like Spain and Italy as it could make me unwell, but not sure if that's as big a deal now.
It's not a huge issue these days as far as I know. You will see some old plumbing systems have signs next to the tap saying 'not drinking water' but I can't remember the last time I saw one like that.
Thanks for this! Personally speaking I was fine as I had a passport, but I work in a sector where a lot of people are struggling and that loss of opportunity to just pop in without thinking can make a difference.
This is great advice though and would encourage anyone who hasn't sorted ID out to do so sooner rather than later.
