Byron Bay is to be stripped of its nudist beach – and naturists blame ‘conservative creep’
  • It used to be required at a lot of camping pools because the longer shorts would take too much water out of the pool.. nowadays it's not often required anymore in my experience.

  • Two of my favourite things combined, hyped! Too bad LEGO games usually don't do it for me, but given that Guerilla themselves are involved it might be different this time. I'll have to get it either way, it looks great.

  • Europe’s rapidly rising right: Hard-right forces are gaining ground ahead of next month’s European Parliament election
  • In my opinion these parties are often mentioning valid issues or things that could be improved in society, and people vote for that. The problem is these parties don't really have solutions either, but that's something that doesn't show up until after the elections...

  • I find this to be most accurate with Debian
  • If it's important that it keeps running then it should just be redundant and taking one node down for an update shouldn't be an issue. I know this is wishful thinking for a lot of services but I refuse to be on call for something if the client can't be bothered to make it redundant.

  • Shiiieeettt.......
  • That's no longer a technical process issue but more of a teamcoach/HR kind of issue then. You should be able to assume good intentions from colleagues, imho.

  • We use a CI pipeline check which prevents merges to master if the code contains a TODO. A precommit hook only works if the developer has the hooks configured.

  • I would recommend getting a Google Takeout export every year or so. Even before it falls off a cliff it's a good idea to have your own backups. Accounts can get blocked, hacked, etc.

  • Do you often hear the ringing of switching power supplies and devices when you are in a quiet space?
  • Oh no I was so looking forward to just a little bit of hearing loss to finally stop hearing all these noises around me :-(

  • Found the new thing, looks interesting and will give it a try! Would it be possible to use SSO with a Lemmy account from programming.dev? Sure that would help adoption/usage and additionally support 2FA automatically.

Edit: I see it supports 2FA already in settings. If not possible to SSO with Lemmy then it might be nice to recommend 2FA in the signup flow.

  • Synth Riders - missing overview feature of tracks played at X difficulty?

Am I missing something or is it not possible to view all tracks you completed at a certain difficulty level? I would like to complete all songs on expert but it's pretty difficult to get that information. The highest score shown when you select a track is sometimes from a lower difficulty than the highest difficulty I completed the track in. The only way to be certain (as far as I know) is by checking the leaderboards panel next to the song info, which wouldn't be so annoying if it would default to the second tab (self instead of global).

Am I missing something or is it just really annoying to get info like this?

I also think the playlist feature is extremely unintuitieve to use. Why isn't there an 'add to playlist' button when you complete the song for example. I love the game but feel like the UI could be polished a bit more.

[Feature Request] Option to "Mark as read when image viewed" instead of comments viewed would be useful

Hello! Really like the Connect app and the development speed is very impressive. A minor thing I'm missing is related to marking posts as read. When you just click the thumbnail image and view the image, I would like if the post is marked as read. For examples with memes and such it's usually not neccesary to read the comments but the list view keeps showing it as an unread post, making it harder to keep track. Perhaps this could be added some time in a future update?

Either way great work on the app. Thanks!

EDIT: seems this was added in the current beta version, awesome!
