It's never been a better time to switch to Firefox
  • True, I can find any tab I opened on any device from anywhere. All my browser extensions are in one place. My search history, etc. And anytime I get a new device, I never have to waste time trying to configure firefox, it all syncs right back up

  • Anon loves his mom
  • I'm not crying, you're crying!

  • My Lemmy experience so far
  • Rather oddly specific

  • Not Electronics related: Banner and logo of this community?
  • If I was to guess I'd say the purpose is to establish familiarity.. assuming this community migrated during the great reddit migration.. also i think it looks cool so..

  • PSA: Lemmy.ml is not Lemmy
  • ikr... I'm sitting here developing a love-hate relationship with someone who is completely oblivious of my existence

  • PSA: Lemmy.ml is not Lemmy
  • Dude is a prolific commenter

  • PSA: Lemmy.ml is not Lemmy
  • in the past 10 minutes i have had so many mixed emotions towards you.

I have come across your comments about 7 times and each time I either feel like fking you up or giving you a hug.

It's interesting how opinions of different people may differ or align depending on the context. Wars don't really matter if you think about it this way..

    I propose a truce

  • What other less-toxic system could work instead of karma?
  • Initially I was bummed out about not having internet points here like on reddit. However after considering the fluidity this offers... like being whoever you want to be anywhere you want... being able to migrate from one server to another... etc ithink I'd rather we keep it this way to avoid complications

  • Calling all devs! We need moderation tools that can deal with the growth of Lemmy.
  • This is one of the personal fears I have about society's where 'the mob' decides. Most people haven't had their fate decided by a mob before and so might not know what this means or how it pans out most of the time.

I believe it is imperative that we have something in place to avoid mob actions - not a central authority per say but possibly a collective code we all believe in and abide by. We could perhaps establish what is (un)acceptable on a fediversal (universal) scale and what is (un)acceptable on a local instances (instances decide this themselves obv.)

In the future we might need Lemmy/ActivityPub to be able to define posts/accounts/communities that are accessible across the Fediverse and those that are only accessible to users of that instance.

Hence we wouldn't have the problem where for instance: members of one instance think pictures of furries is not NSFW content but members from other instances think it is

How to use the jwt token after logging in a user

I am working on a javascript client for Lemmy and I am unsure of how to use the jwt token in the login response to fetch a user's profile data (email/username/picture)

    What distro(s) do you use?
  • Probably not anytime soon haha

  • What distro(s) do you use?
  • And yet everyone in r/linux and r/linuxmemes kept shitting on it

  • for the Reddit refugees, do you also feel a bit heartbroken?
  • I don't exactly have such a huge attachment but for 4 years of using reddit as a silent lurker, I only ever started posting and gaining karma last month.. i got about 9k since then so yeah... having to restart is draining a bit... but like you said, it doesn't really matter.

  • Test post. Please ignore.
  • I miss you guys already

  • Don't think i didn't see that 500
