I purchased a used iPhone SE 2 for my son from Amazon for $140. This phone had a brand new battery and the screen and back glass are flawless. I was very impressed.
However, if you love the iPhone SE 1, I think that the iPhone 13 mini would replace it well. You would keep the squared off aesthetic, but gain a lot of usable screen real estate. The latest iPhone SE phones are the same size as an iphone 6, and similar to the mini, but they have lower end features and the round aesthetic. The only deal breaker I see is that the SE phones have touch ID rather than Face ID. Not sure which she would prefer. (I would love to have both!)
The myColorado app is great as it stores a legal ID (except for police interactions???) as well as insurance and vaccine info. Colorado also supports the Apple wallet implementation, which is absolutely useless. The Apple wallet version can only be used at an airport, but when when I tried to use it at DIA the TSA officer just said "no". I think Apple may be the one who is doing it wrong...
I think we all need to do a little more commenting on top of our lurking. I would also like to reiterate my thanks. But mostly, we just need more comments!
This instance and more communities
I want to use this community as the "general" community of this instance. There is already a much more popular Colorado community on lemmy.world, and it is unlikely that this will replace it or properly augment it in that same way.
Next, I wanted to create a community on this instance that is new and useful, not just a replication of something on other instances. The first thing that seems to not exist in its own right and makes sense on this instance is Colorado Camping and Hiking.
With all of the lemmy.world ddos attacks and the brief time when the .ml sites had trouble with their TLD status, I think it shows that a little bit of diversification is helpful.
Anyone else have an idea for a community that would make sense here?
I know I'm a fanboy, but I have been using apple maps since iOS 6 beta and it has been great for me. Maybe I just happened to be in parts of the world where it just worked better. Often when I would find an issue, I would check google, and google had the same issue.

I have recently found signs at Jefferson Park and the pirate ship park at Sloans lake indicating that hard alcohol, glass bottles and kegs are prohibited, but the language seems to specifically leave beer and wine (without glass) off the prohibition.
Does anyone have a reference for the generic city wide policy? There is no sign at my local park, and I want to know what the default setup is.
New Install
I’m a lowly USG-3P user with a couple 8 port POE switches and 4 APs running my controller off of a RPI4. However, a friend wanted to go all in, so I helped him to spend his money…
I hope to post some more pictures as it goes along. We made some progress that is not shown, but neither of us are experts, nor are we OCD.
One unexpected exciting feature is the built in ad blocker in the UDM-SE, which is quite effective.
Lightning was amazing when it came out, and helped to push USB-C. Still, its time has come. I’m anxious to ditch lightning and then only need usb-C for iphone, iPad, and laptop. Then I can use Apple Watch charger to charge watch and AirPods Pro 2. With some mag safe chargers around the house, I’ll be set.

Cherry Creek Bike Trail Status

Bottom line is that today the trail is only flooded in one place, but muddy in several.

This progressive web app does not need a beta invite and should work on android. It is only being tested for iOS at the moment, but it is very slick so far.
The rapid pace of development on lemmy and lemmy apps is wild to be witnessing live.
It just so happens I have a reasonably respectable Reddit account I’m willing to burn to the ground to find out. I will be workshopping a message this week.

I’m still getting used to it, but it already seems better than mlem. It already supports iPad and swipe to upvote/reply as well as multiple accounts.

This instance will need a little more traction to be useful. I’m thinking it may be useful to collaborate on a welcome message to post on Reddit. I was thinking that the r/Colorado subreddit would be a good test as it is a much smaller community than r/Denver.
Part of my thinking is that we should advertise not as a replacement for Reddit, but an addition, and an insurance policy of sorts. Basically not to oversell it, but also not to attract everyone, just those who are curious. If we can get that up, and some of us here can add comments and some updoots, it should give some much needed visibility and that logical Colorado landing spot for those who just don't know what to do.
Issues with multiple communities with the same name
Is there an issue with different instances having the same community name? I read that it may be an issue, but it was not clear.
This is a neat site for tracking the fediverse and this instance.
I'm learning about this process as I go, and quite a bit from you now. I would like to contribute in any way that makes sense. Time, money, etc, let me know.
