In the US, if you don't want to agree with someone, you don't attack their points, you attack them personally. That way you don't have to argue against the points and can distract the focus of the conversation altogether.
In this thread: People so upset about using the word cunt they are willing to ignore the actions of some celebrity contributing to the culture of excess that is harmful to our world, while at the same time making herself look like an uneducated child by tossing threats that have no bite. She's now Mini-Elon to me.
Living a primal lifestyle, often associated with the paleolithic or primal diet and exercise regimen, can potentially have various effects on the brain. It’s important to note that individual…

Lemmy servers aren't meant to be "big". I left lemmy.world for a smaller instance. If the admins of Lemmy.World want to just keep growing and thus increasing their costs, that is their choice. It doesn't mean all the users need to cough up money. THAT is capitalist propaganda. If the person who runs an instance can't afford to run it, then don't run it. You can escape from the system that is stacked against you, the system that demands you pay for every little experience you have, every little resource you use. You do that by giving and sharing with each other and quit acting like a vulture looking for scraps.
Coming down with something? Reaching for the right tincture could get you back on track, but it’s vital to choose wisely. To help you curate your stores like a medieval apothecary, I’ve compiled a list

The key to primal-aligned social activities is to create a sense of community and reconnect with nature.
In general society, biological females can and do identify as women. You cannot just say "biological women don't exist" when you are just arguing a difference in accepted meaning between "woman" and "female".
The term two x chromosomes is not transphobic in any way. It is a community for cis-women. There are communities for trans-people as well. To try and declare that cis-women talking together about the struggles they face is hate speech only speaks to your own hate.
It's no different than if someone wanted to shut down a support for trans-women community by calling it hate-speech.
A trans-woman is a woman whose gender identity is not based on their biological gender. A cis-woman is a woman whose gender identity matches their biological gender...or their two x chromosomes.
If you find hate in that, then you should consider all communities that support any specific gender, cis and trans, to be hate speech since they are inherently exclusionary on their stated focus.
But that's absurd. Support for one group is not hating all others.
So if the community is abandoned, then do to it as any other abandoned community is managed. But it should not in any way be removed as hate.
Tolerance, OP. Everyone needs to have it.
By ditching caffeine, we’re reclaiming control over our energy, our vitality, and our destiny.
The primal lifestyle, far from a mere echo of the past, is a canvas upon which we paint the colors of empathy, kindness, and interconnections.

I'm not angry at the child. Conservatives are, but they are angry at people for anything. Like wearing the wrong style of clothes.
Yes, we are way past planting trees and picking up garbage as far as stopping the very abrupt changes that are coming. We are way past everything.
But those kids that are out planting trees and picking up trash are going to have a head start. Because their environmental awareness almost certainly extends beyond those simple skills.
What they offer is the example of action. Not arguing with politicians. They use their words to teach and train others who need their skills, knowledge and outlook.
Look past the culture of celebrity worship if you want to see the ones who will make an impact.
They will be the ones we will be aided by when the time comes.
Pretty much. Has about the same impact as awareness, thoughts and prayers. Some people are satisfied with saying "I'm aware of the problem" and think that will have some sort of impact.
Fighting with politicians has not accomplished anything. You know who has? The anonymous kid who plants trees. The kid who pics up garbage left on the road. Trust me. Everyone is "aware". You can't live in modern culture and not be aware of climate change.
So sure. She has made a lot of people feel good because conservatives hate her. But is that an accomplishment? Conservatives hate everyone that's not a conservative. They smear everyone they can to get their way or to stomp out any chance that people will start taking action.
Downvoting me doesn't change the reality they want to ignore just because it feels better to do so.
Is "awareness" the environmental version of "thoughts and prayers"? Has the situation we were made aware of by her (although she's just one of a long list of voices from the past 100 years, most of which have been long forgotten) activism made a measurable impact on the actual climate crisis? I'm personally curious what the qualitative power of awareness is.
As we strive to find balance in our modern lives, it’s crucial not to overlook the innate need for social interactions that our primal ancestors recognized as vital for survival.
The act of engaging with the food we eat serves as a powerful reminder of our intrinsic connection to the natural world. By prioritizing unprocessed foods, taking charge of our meal preparation, an…

Capitalists expect you to believe there is no escape from capitalism. The government cannot force you to participate in capitalism. There are ways to survive, not primitively, that we are conditioned to believe cannot work.

In what way would Google profit from restricting 3rd party launchers? I can see why Twitter and Reddit want to charge access for 3rd party apps. Profit. Lots of profit. I don't see where Google would have anything to gain from restricting a very significant customization option in Android.

I think of spirit as the essence of being. All things that exist have an essence of being just by existing. All things are following their intent. Whether it's a bird, a tree, a rock, water, people. It encompasses all we can perceive with our senses and things we can't. Wind, heat, these are energy and therefore exist and have an essence of being.
