Microsoft Defender did not give me any "Threats Found" for the previous 2.6.3 standalone version.
What change in 2.6.4 is getting flagged?
I usually use this printable in tandem with an Amazon Gift Card. For example, I would give $50 USD worth of XMR and $50 USD worth of Amazon Gift Card in the same envelope in case my gift receiver does not want anything to do with cryptocurrency. If the gift receiver does not transfer the funds to their own wallet within 1 year, the funds can be swept and regifted.

Monero Gift is a printable template for people that want to easily give Monero away as a present.
Here's the printable PDF: https://github.com/phloatingman/monero_gift/raw/main/Monero%20Gift.pdf
The source .ai file is available here if you want to make changes: https://github.com/phloatingman/monero_gift
Note: When you write down the seed phrase, make sure it's in all lower case. Cake Wallet only accepts lowercase words.

Lemmy Quick Start Guide
- Find a topic that you are interested in the most using the Lemmy Community-Browser https://browse.feddit.de
- It will list the most popular communities (analogous to subreddits)
- There may be multiple similar communities on different instances (servers)
- Research the different instances to see which one you like the most and sign up for a profile on that instance. That will be your home instance.
Some things to keep in mind when researching instances.
- Does it allow instant profile creation or do I have to be vetted first?
- Do I have the ability to create a community or can admins only do that?
- Does the instance allow downvotes?
- Has the instance been defederated from other instances?
- Does the instance allow NSFW content?
- Does the instance have performance issues when there's an influx of users?
- Does the instance host controversial communities or admins?
- I wouldn't want my profile name to show [email protected]
- Your profile name can also be seen as a promotion for your home instance. For example, wherever I post shows @[email protected]. People might want to check out my home instance after hovering over my name.
After you sign up for a profile on your instance of choice, you can start subscribing to communities.
- In one tab, go back to the Lemmy Community-Browser https://browse.feddit.de
- In another tab, go to the search section of your home instance
- Copy and paste a link from the Lemmy Community-Browser into the search section of your home instance
- It may take a few moments before the community will appear on your home instance.
- Once it appears, you can subscribe to it.
There are 3 options for reading posts. Subscribed, Local, or All.
- Subscribed will show you posts from communities that you manually subscribed to.
- Local will show you posts from all communities on that instance.
- All will show you posts from all the instances that are federated with the instance you are on.
Sometimes comments will not show on a post because they haven't been downloaded to your home instance yet.
- Click the rainbow fedilink to take you to the instance that hosts the post which should have all the comments.
- However, if you want to upvote or reply to that post, you will need to copy and paste the fedilink into your home instance search field.
7Artisans 24mm F1.4 Manual APS-C Lens Released (~$109 USD)
7Artisans recently released an extremely affordable manual prime lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras: the 7Artisans 24mm F/1.4.

Thanks! I did have a question about comments.
When I view an external post from my home instance, it has less comments than the source. Does it eventually catch up? How long does that take usually?
Here's screenshots of what I'm talking about. My home instance is monero.town and the post has 39 comment. When I click the rainbow fedilink icon that takes me to the source instance at beehaw it has 70 comments.
Will my home instance eventually show 70 comments as well? It's a 2 day old article. How long does it take?
I feel like I'm missing out if I don't go to the original source every time. But if I go the original source, I won't be able to comment or upvote because I'll be on their instance instead of my home instance.
It's taken me awhile to figure out stuff. I'm still confused about certain things as well.
If you click the source icon, it will show you the markdown code for any post or reply..
To make the link work,
- I signed up for a profile on https://sh.itjust.works
- I searched for the community on https://browse.feddit.de to get the link
- I copied and pasted the link into the search field of https://sh.itjust.works
- searched for Monero and the community now showed up
Had to do all that to make the link work. 🤦
If you format your links like this...
the links will be clickable and the user can subscribe to them from their home instance.
This question comes up often. Here's my default answer.
Peer to Peer option...
You can also buy Bitcoin or Litecoin (less fees) on...
- Coinbase (I.D. required)
- cash app (I.D. required)
- venmo (I.D. required)
- Bisq (No I.D. required, but may be at risk at receiving tainted Bitcoin)
Then, exchange them for Monero using...
- https://changenow.io (no login or I.D. needed)
- https://trocador.app (no login or I.D. needed, tor friendly, no javascript)
Make some good content and release on Lemmy first. Then crosspost to other platforms citing the Lemmy source.
Another option that might work for you is zerotier.
And you can use sunshine/moonlight to remotely control it.
Some people say that your instance doesn't matter, but I wouldn't want my username to be affiliated with something I'm not aligned with.
For example, I wouldn't want my username to be @[email protected]
Having [email protected] acts like an advertisement for that particular instance wherever you comment on the fediverse.
So if you had @[email protected] , a reader right off the bat would see that you're into film and might want to check out the other communities on that specialized instance.
Whereas @[email protected] it might not be as evident. They might think you're into photography instead since lemmy.world is more of a general purpose instance.
You might want to consider putting you communities in the film/video centric instance like these at https://lemmy.film/communities
I forgot to mention you can also acquire Monero by...
- selling products/services
- mining
