Cool! I snagged one, thanks!
Not 100% sure but I think the plaintiff is Judith Cohen IIRC.
Thanks! I know I can use all the help navigating Lemmy!
I also hold GME and lurked in Superstonk. Some time ago I had read Ryan Cohen bought a lot of BBBY stock. So I bought some too and loosely followed that subreddit. August 2022 RC supposedly "sold" his BBBY position. I can't say I had any foresight into what the bigger picture was but I believed RC was still involved, besides if I sold my bbby I would have lost money. So I held and bought more. In the spring a fella named PPSeeds started a YouTube channel and subreddit (not sure of dates) where you can get together and shoot the shit, perhaps talking about your favorite stock in a non financial advice way... For me, we flash forward to post July when my third party Reddit app stopped working. I tried Lemmy but ultimately went back to the stock Reddit app. I was getting all sorts of weird subreddit recommendations, things I've never seen before (sidenote I now know what "Snoots and Boots" refers to, lol). One interesting subreddit recommendation the native app offered was ThePPShow. I found where a lot of the OG apes had migrated to and it became my go-to place. Yesterday ThePPshow subreddit was shut down without explanation from the Reddit mods and we scattered to X communities and @hey_ross was smart and quick enough to snag us a a Lemmy community. I hope we gain a good foothold here as it seems like a stable platform where future DD posts can't be removed.
Just wondering, was the 30th of November ever a hype date?
As in November 24 not November 30?
They are up for me, loading OK
Teddy Books: Bundle Pricing Tinfoil?
Full disclosure, I enjoy the tin foil but don't usually dive too deep into it. Last night on the PPShow when the books dropped and the fellas were dissecting the pages looking for clues and whatnot someone (Michael IIRC) caught that the book bundle pricing didn't reflect what the advertised savings would be. For example: Teddy Books 1-5 Bundle was "Save 20%" and "Save Over 20%" ($49.99 instead of $64.95). Teddy Books 6-10 was "Save 23%" (same price, $49.99 instead of $64.95)
When you do the math, $49.99 is about 23% of the original price at $64.95. And lets excuse the "Save 20%" for a moment because the bundle does end up saying "Save Over 20%." So no big deal, I didn't think too much more of this last night.
Today when looking at the updated Teddy store site I notice the bundle pricing again and see that book bundle 1-5 is listed as "Save 20%"/"Save Over 20%", book bundle 6-10 is "Save 20%", and a new listing for all ten books has "Save 30%" advertised.
Again, not too concerned with the 5 book bundles because the consumer ends up saving more than the advertised sale price (saving 23% instead of 20%), but the 10 book collection you are not saving 30%! Quick math, $98.99 / $129.90 = 0.76, a 24% savings. So why are you saving less on this deal? Is it a mistake (that is what I usually would believe) or something else? I don't know. I liked that the numbers referenced in the savings are 20, 23, 24... important November days (exclusivity ends on the 20th, Thanksgiving on the 23rd, Black Friday on the 24th).
I was surprised when I saw a Dr. Jacques!
I agree, I just think I come from a place where losing data is reality and to have several copies to CYA. Glad to see that the sub may be nearly fully archived, see this post: https://lemmy.world/post/8584991
I'm sure you've seen this post--> https://lemmy.world/post/8584991 I browsed the github and saw a ton of jake2b's posts so it looks like it maybe was all saved.
Holy crap! Did a quick search and I'm reading the Bezos related post from this morning. Good find, I'm going to look more but this needs more attention!
DD lost?
Listening to the show and I am having a hard time understanding... Did the DD writers type directly into the reddit app or website? I am starting to feel old! I always type into notepad or word and then copy/paste into my final destination because I have had so many documents disappear into the ether because of a saving/send/connection issue. No complaints, just saying.
I can't recommend anything for iOS, but I used Boost for Reddit and after the API shenanigans this past summer the app developer began working on Boost for Lemmy. It can be found in the Google Play Store, the author is Rubén Mayayo.

Just posting the URL where ThePPShow set up an X Community so we all are in the loop
