A Patient Review of Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair
  • It's a fun game with some nice visuals but for whatever reason I lose interest fairly quickly. Like it's a nice little Saturday afternoon game - I'll have some fun with it and then move on to the next thing. Worth the $5 or so it goes on sale for quite frequently

  • Favorite Micro Sd Card Brands
  • For value I like silicon power cards. I use them in my handhelds and my dash cams and they have all been solid.

Samsung Evo cards are really good too, I use one in the steam deck. Russ from Retro Game Corp usually posts when they go on sale on Amazon.

  • Advice on increasing dpad sensitivity?
  • If you're feeling confident to open it up you could try loosening the screws a little that hold the board to the shell on the Dpad side too. I've had to open mine quite a bit to get it right lol

  • Games my toddler can watch me play
  • Nice I didn't even realize it was on sale, I played it on Game Pass a couple years ago. $4 is a great price for the game as it's pretty short but a fun experience nonetheless. It has a cool soundtrack too

  • What are y'all buying on the steam sale?
  • I just bought Balatro on Fanatical which came with a free game voucher so I picked up Grip: Combat Racing asking with it. Both really fun games.

Tempted to get FF7 remake but I need to put in more time with a Baldur's gate 3 before buying another big game

  • Any recommendations for PS Vita games?
  • Yup you nailed it, think classic top down Zelda but with more fast paced bump combat/hack n slash combat depending on which game you're playing, and less puzzles. Don't be ashamed to use a walkthrough for Ys 1 and 2 as they are originally made in the late 80s/early 90s and have some obscure elements to them (find a boss before getting x item and you will get one shotted/ won't be able to damage him, etc)

  • I know I'm in the minority, but did anyone not like the most recent 2 Zelda games?
  • I hated BOTW but love TOTK. I think the expanded world, new mechanics, and story make it really fun.

Links Awakening (GB) is my comfort food though, I've always considered top-down Zelda games to be the best ones. Idk why but the lack of a jump button in older 3D Zeldas always screws me up.

  • If durability is a concern with the switch I'd definitely recommend you play docked with a pro controller or 8bitdo controller as your joycons will start to drift - happened to me about 1.5 to 2 years into owning mine.

I haven't owned a PlayStation since PS3 but it sounds like PS5 is a solid choice for you

  • Why did 'Secret Invasion' suck (by ScreenCrush)
  • The overall story was a disappointment but there were a few really good scenes between Don Cheadle and Sam Jackson, and I thought the episode involving the submarine launch was entertaining.

  • Anyone else still rocking the 351V?

If this device had the OnionOS/GarlicOS experience it would be the perfect device for me. Regardless of that it comes with me every day to work. It's the best vertical form factor for longer play sessions IMO. Just wanted to show some love!

    Miyoo Mini+ Durability?

I sold my original Mini as it eventually ended up sitting in a case in a drawer rather than actually being played, partly because the form factor was so small but mainly because of all the reports of broken fragile screens from short drops like 2ft onto carpet.

I recently couldn't resist the temptation to get a $35 MM+ from Temu and now that I have it I have a similar concern- is the MM+ as fragile as the original?
