My first big bike - VFR 750
  • Power throughout the whole rev range, quite happy to sit at low revs and cruise, but high rev range it comes alive.

Position is a comfy forward but not forcing you on top of the tank, but you can easily tuck in when you're giving it some beans.

    Yeah I'm a big fan

Court rules Gabe Newell must appear in person to testify in Steam anti-trust lawsuit
  • Fyi I like valve but im in no way sworn to them.

I think the justification would probably be that if they continued listing the item:

    1. It maybe mislead consumers into paying more for the same thing
    2. The reason why people pay more in that scenario is for convenience (IE all games in the same place) but that would be exersizing valves monopoly, so it may be safer to just remove to reduce complaints to steam about the higher pricing because there will be operational cost to processing those support requests and complaints

I don't feel like valve does everything because of lawsuits. Open sourcing proton wasn't due to a lawsuit. Releasing Cs2 as a free upgrade to csgo wasn't due to a lawsuit.

On the other hand and in response to your comment, I think the regulatory fix is that platforms must display their platform fee clearly and separately to the publishers price.

  • Trying dropshotting on a budget

Hey, I'm from the UK and live near the Leeds Liverpool canal, from what I hear, there's a tonne of perch in there.

I've heard dropshotting is really fun and I'd like to give it a go, but I wouldn't like to get another rod just yet.

I've got a waggler and a feeder rod, I've also got a kids rod that's quite short (5ft or so). What's the closest rod that will effectively work for drop shotting?

Also can anyone give some tips on perch behaviour and where they are most likely to reside?

    project engineer vs software engineer
  • Hey, project engineer usually refers to the ability to do some project management / business analyst type abilities. Whereas software engineer you have the solution provided and it is your job to implement it.

Project engineering is a touch more rewarding imho than just software as you are usually closer to the customer and can provide solutions that you yourself have come up with.

It's possible to get into entry level positions with only software development experience, but it would be good to brush up on some project management / business analyst type functions but your joining as a junior so it should be known to the employer you'll need some training of some sort.

As for general sde roles, I would say having project engineering experience would actually be a benefit for general sde roles as it means that you can be more dynamic for your employer and you have a better understanding of the challenges that are present in other business areas.
