Is it a common thing for people who have left authoritarian countries to still feel the fear of their now-former country?
  • Poland is an example that I know of, and again this thread is not about refugees. Feeling threatened and not safe is not enough to be considered one. You've just changed your stance completely in two posts while doubling down on irrelevant parts. And no moving from usa somewhere and moving from irrelevant country somewhere are completely different experiences with completely different attitudes to the people that are trying to move. That's not even funny how different they are and how easy a person from usa would have it compared to any non-firstworld country.

  • People in boats are absolute minority of people moving to other countries, and applying for visa is a normal way of moving countries. And climate and refugees has nothing to do with the post where a chinese person in usa asks how can they move to another country. And no most countries do not require proof of wealth for work visa, some even allow to work start working and apply for visa later e.g. Poland.

  • This checks out
  • r*ssian roulette was invented with a specific free turning revolver drum in mind that makes it impossible to shoot yourself with one bullet loaded.

  • Yes. What do you think will happen? Do you think there were no dictators or tyrannical regimes before or that they were universally liked? Most of the people that were at the helm end up fine, after decade or more of being in power. Don't delude yourself that there will be some kind of revolution, people will just take it and move on.

  • How animalistic do you think vampires should be?
  • Dunno vampire high society to me looks like a joke, they are corpses that move as long as they consume blood/life/essence of others, there is no place for refined or realistically any society beyond aknowledging existence of others. They barely survive, that is not benefical to any kind of complex society.

Other monsters like fairies or elves seem to me the kind to form complex societies.

  • How animalistic do you think vampires should be?
  • I think they should look human at first glance but be wrong if someone takes a minite to actually look at them. I prefer intelligent and human-ish but alien ones, that lack any inhibitions and morality. Feral ones are great too. They might be able to talk, but there can't be any society of vampires.

I dreamed about something like this just yesterday, is this a sign? Will we see plasma guns destroying tanks in two weeks?

I am a lot more excited by this release compared to any other "big" models. Downloading it right now. Graphs/benchmarks are a bit of suspect as they always are. What do you think?

    Achievments in universe

Silly thought that stuck with me today.

Is there any explanation for achievments in universe? Like Commander has a little notebook where he counts numbers of killed krait or centaurs? 🙃

I understand that they are mostly for gameplay purposes, but in my imagination he stops at that bar in Divinity Reach once in a while and shows everyone his progress. On the other hand most of the side quests are done as collections/achievments so there must be some way for him to track these things.
