I'm going to my friends Hamas base RULE dinner
  • Yes let's not blame Hamas for building their bases in these places. Let's not acknowledge that Hamas is still launching rockets every day at cities full of civilians. Let's ignore that Hamas exclusively targets civilians. Let's avoid that. Let's only blame Israel.

    Note the keyword there: only

This is what happens when fake leftists apply their aesthetic politics to everything. They start unironically doing apologism for terrorist governments.

Should Israel have never supported Hamas to undermine Palestine? Absolutely. Should we be apologizing for Hamas' war crimes? No.

Why is it that when Jews defend themselves from vicious terrorist attacks, relentless wars, and a region of the world that considers extermination of Jews as a reasonable political position we sit over here and see them as white occupiers in a land that best we can tell was originally theirs and traded hands dozens of times inbetween. Even the Palestinians there drove out the Turks at the end of WWI. Where is the justice for them?

  • Mob storms Dagestan airport in search of Jewish passengers from Israel
  • This is very contested land. The people living there before them had just driven out the people living their before them who had also done the same and it goes on like that for a very long time. When you get back to it the best archaeological records say the earliest people there were likely one of the less popular sects of Jews.

If we're going by who was living there then everyone after the Jews is an occupier that denied today's Jews the land of their ancestors. But this is a bad argument.

The truth is in the details:

    1. Palestine and Israel both became states at the same time. There were both Arabs and Jews living there.
    2. Jews had purchased land from Arabs living there before Israel became a state.
    3. A lot of the land in the entire region was empty.
    4. The Ottomans kept very poor land ownership records. No one knows who exactly owned what.
    5. There were several wars started by Palestine against Israel where the Palestinians lost land.
    6. The Gaza strip and West Bank are undeniably Palestinian land. Israel needs to stop attacking the West Bank and taking its land.
    7. Gaza, Iran, and all the nationalist organizations and governments that believe in the genocide of Jews as the end goal here need to be removed by their people.

  • Yeah dude you've just solved the question of where to send 8m people of various means who are so widely discriminated against that they formed a state to defend their remaining people.

The answer of where to send them both is nowhere. It's to cease fire and everyone accepts a two state solution.

  • You can't just start with an unsupported assertion and derive a logical conclusion from it. Your axioms need to be provably true. Logical reasoning does not work when based on either false or unfalsifiable premises.

  • Hamas Fighters’ Orders: ‘Kill as Many People as Possible’
  • Yeah dude military personnel use maps during operations. Also these terrorists did actually attack and kill civilians. It was transparently their goal and they did it proudly.

Sorry not everything is a conspiracy. Sometimes authoritarian and antisemitic government leaders commit wanton acts of terrorism to incite extreme violence against their own people. Crazy world we live in. Do try to get better.

  • Amazon linked to trafficking of workers in Saudi Arabia, who say they were tricked into toiling and living in grueling, squalid conditions
  • The alternative is to do the action of not shopping at Amazon and then over time you'll learn how to shop without it.

You don't need to stop 100% immediately either but can wean yourself off of it.

I've not shopped on Amazon for like 5 years now. I just buy a lot less crap to be honest.

  • What happened to The Agora?

It seems like a lot of posts got deleted and now it looks pretty inactive. What happened?

Threads is using ActivityPub solely because it was available and stable to build with.

That's it. It's just the fastest springboard this garbage company had to get yet another social media platform out the door when they sensed blood in the water.

Edit: This is a response to people who think FB users will somehow discover the fediverse and be converted by this action. They won't.

Or that FB has noble goals in choosing AP or will somehow be forced to be better. They won't.

    It's just good software.

You choose what instance you are on. Quit the pseudointellectual whining.

    • No server operator needs to federate with you.
    • No server operator needs to tolerate things they don't want on their instance.
    • No user of an instance needs to personally curate their own extensive never ending blocklist of users and channels they don't want to see.

Quit your pseudo-intellectual whining and choose what instance(s) work for you. If you think regularly interacting with shit content somehow helps you stay out of an echo chamber then go ahead and make a second account on those garbage instances full of hateful people. Then you can read both the decent servers and the trash ones and be the fedora wearing ackshually right fair and balanced uber nerd you always wanted to be.

Edit: The huge number of upvotes on this post compared to the low numbers on the whiney imposers' posts is proof of exactly where this community places its priorities.
