Zoe Keating - Lost

vid.puffyan.us Zoe Keating live on RN - 'Lost'

http://abc.net.au/radionational/programs/soundquality A chance to listen to a live solo performance by Zoe Keating. No overdubs, but she sounds like a cello orchestra. [Description: A live studio performance for Sound Quality Sessions featuring Cello composer Zoe Keating performing her song 'Lost'.]

This song keeps being played in my mind when I hear about all the things going wrong with our world. We are lost in the woods.

Especially when I see this map that was posted in LGBTQ+. It's an attack on human rights, and the scale with which it's happening terrifies me.

why I ended up leaving Reddit today
  • You remind of people playing Deep Rock Galactic for the first time. When you 'die' one of your teammates has to come and get you up and with a lot of new people apologize profusely for getting downed as if they're scared that I'll yell at them or something. It's like they have PTSD from toxic experiences on other online games.

It really sucks to see that, but it's also really cool when they realize it's okay that they died and they can finally start just enjoying the game.

    Rock and stone!

  • I fart in your general direction, your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!

Really though, I was part of two private subs that were invite only. The smaller community and how users were "recruited" made a huge difference. I could post things there that I wouldn't on public forums, mostly because of the increased anonymity, but also because there wouldn't be any nastiness.

  • Redditors, how do you like Lemmy?
  • I love it. I love how I don't usually have to deal with "right-wing" extremists. They're usually contained to lemmy.grab, but I suppose one or two might break containment every now and then.

Still, a hell of lot better then seeing their bullshit as the first comment on a new post. :|

  • YouTube tests blocking videos unless you disable ad blockers
  • The largest issue for me is that I've never watched an ad and thought "I need that". It's just a huge waste of time that I find disrespectful and distasteful.

That being said I haven't watched and ad in years. A bit less then a decade now, actually.
