YSK: This service needs more content creators, and you can invite them.
  • Yes, I was seeing a lot of people upset about it, I don’t think they understand how it can be helpful right now. For user created content it’s not so great because you want to interact with the creator, but for lots of other things we just need a content aggregator. Thanks anyway.

  • r/PublicFreakout

    There’s a magazine on kbin m/PublicFreakouts.

  • Could you set one up to do r/publicfreakout to m/PublicFreakouts on kbin?

  • [UserScript] Yet another redirector (hopefully, a better one!)
  • Does this work for an individual or does my home instance have to add this?

  • What specific mod tools will reddit be getting rid of and what do they do?
  • Here is what one mod had to say. There are more if you check out the mod subreddits like r/modsupport

  • What specific mod tools will reddit be getting rid of and what do they do?
  • This isn’t accurate, the costs are 20 times what they should be. It makes the tools not exist, it doesn’t break them or make them harder to use. They said they made exceptions for some bots and things but they’ve constantly outright lied and continue to not meet promises on improvements to their app. People have been asking for things third party apps provide on the official reddit app for years and they never come through. I don’t know what specific tools are going to go away but reddit has made it clear they only care about making money now off all the content we have provided. They want to make the most money possible with all the newer users who don’t care about ads, tracking or the user experience. Every cent that goes to a third party app dev is money that should be going to reddit.

  • Corn-dog stuffed Meatloaf
  • This is shitty but I want it.

  • YSK that kbin.social is now federating, adding hundreds of communities and ~26k more users content
  • I tried finding https://kbin.social/m/photoshopbattles Search wouldn’t bring anything up but I copied the url from kbin into the community search bar on lemmy, hit search, nothing…then I refreshed the page and searched it again and it popped up. I had to copy the url from the web browser bar.

  • Why did reddit not buy apollo?
  • The 10 million was a joke. It was to make a point of how ridiculous the situation was based on their pricing.

  • What‘s keeping us from promoting Lemmy on Reddit?
  • Something weird happened to me, I was no longer subscribed to two of my most active subs after having been subscribed for a decade. So when they went private I was locked out. I had only messaged one moderator about the protest and they went private.

  • Reddit CEO calls unpaid moderators' concerns "noise" - time to send a message he won't forget.
  • Maybe stick around until the 1st and help people transition away from reddit.

  • A number of subs going public again, but many have decided to extend the blackout indefinitely
  • Personally I don’t want to be apart of something I loved being destroyed by corporate greed anymore. They ruined the connection facebook allowed for families and friends. They ruined the connection of instant sharing of hobbies with instagram. They ruined digg, they’ve been slowly ruining Reddit since they killed alien blue. I don’t get it, with the changes to gold and premium and all the extra stuff they monetized it just doesn’t make sense they can’t break even or make a small profit. It’s like instead of operating on their cash they spent other peoples money with big interest and now it’s coming due. Maybe it’s just pure greed.

  • A number of subs going public again, but many have decided to extend the blackout indefinitely
  • I mean its pretty amazing it’s the 15th now and over 5000 are still private when the plan was supposed to go up to the 14th. Many have just switched to restricted. This also gives time for people to get used to other platforms and still get help transitioning away from Reddit while using Reddit to do so. It also gives time for improvements to the fediverse and the apps available.
