Excitement! I've mostly run out of things to do so I'm really looking for the Variant dungeon and BLU.
I know female Hrothgar is something they've mentioned before as at least "eventually" tier. So I think it's definitely possible for 7.0.
I went and looked up what other fanfests were like (source is on reddit 🙁, sorry).
If history repeats, we should get:
- The expansion name
- A short teaser trailer
- Basic announcements about content with no details
- Where are we going or some important people. Basic surface-level plot points. Maybe a bit of relevant lore
- Screenshots
- A few big system announcements (e.g., SB had the introduction of Eureka, an inventory expansion, and the end of PS3 support, ShB introduced Ishgardian Restoration, New Game+, World Visit)
- Yoshi-P wears a shirt that teases something about the expansion (e.g., HW had Batman = Dark Knight, SB had Scarlet Witch = Red Mage, ShB had Bugs Bunny = Viera)
We might also get some details on 6.5.
Less active just due to lower user population but great vibe nonetheless.
It's up to you. I played almost entirely Black Mage through Shadowbringers then almost entirely Machinist about halfway through those patch quests and up to present. I only started levelling other jobs once I was done with MSQ, so keep occupied and to try new things.
The answer to this question probably depends on how much you like John Oliver.
To be honest the beans thing is the most early internet thing I've seen in a while. I've very proud of you all.
As a lalafell DPS main, the cute portrait comms are very real.
I picked lemmy.world because it was recommended and had a large userbase. I know Beehaw defederated from lemmy.world and sh.itjustwor.ks, so if you want to interact with that community, that could be a consideration against, but since the user population across all of Lemmy is currently increasing dramatically, I think everything's a bit of a moving target regardless.
Right now I'm in soft-break until probably 6.45, so I'm mostly just doing dailies and weeklies and occasional crafting. Normally I'm playing new content or doing completionist-ish stuff. I don't raid though, not a big appeal for me -- but that's about the only section of content in the game I think I haven't really done much with. Right now I've been running the subs at my FC to keep occupied.
I started playing around 5.4, and caught up with MSQ between 5.45 and 5.5. It's hard for me to pick favorites in terms of content... I finished my card mount grind a couple months back, which gave me a good excuse to try just about everything at least a little bit. FFXIV claims I have about 195 days of playtime. I'm definitely not a sprout anymore though I look back at those first few months very fondly.
I play on Brynhildr; I don't use add-ons but I don't judge those that do. I appreciate that add-ons are pushing SE to add useful features/QoL adjustments for everyone.
My main source of info is r/ffxiv and a variety of Discord servers, though I'm hoping this community can grow bigger over time so I can fully disconnect from Reddit eventually.
I was a little mid on the first two tiers, but I felt Anabaseios wrapped it up really nicely. Great fights, great lore. I don't play Savage, so I can't comment on that piece.
