Well at least so far the Trump clones haven't been able to gain any meaningful support. Of course one could argue that's only because Trump himself is still hanging around, but it does show that for whatever reason others are having difficulty gathering and maintaining support using his tactics.
He tried to get Pence killed four years ago. We've known for at least that long that this is who Trump is. Republicans don't care.
That's fair. That didn't seem like what you were getting at but I understand that point.
State sanctioned murder of political dissidents doesn't seem like a significant additional executive power to you? I'm not convinced that's enabled by this particular ruling but that's how you're framing it and the fact that doesn't seem concerning to you is pretty wild.
You make mostly good points but its stupid to call the game dead or dying. They don't currently have a bunch of players they never expected to have in the first place. They still sold their product to those people which makes it a huge net win for them. It's a wildly successful game by any reasonable metric you can choose to evaluate it against.
I hope you're right about that but I'll be legitimately shocked if that turns out to be true to any significant degree.
There are no moderate Republicans. Anyone who calls themselves a Republican in 2024 is a fascist, whether intentionally or not makes no practical difference. They will never ever vote for a Democrat. Calling them reachable voters is so hilariously out of touch that it makes me wonder where you've been the last 8 years.
Yes I'm saying that the branch of government whose job it is to craft laws should be the one crafting laws. It's amazing you can disagree with such a basic statement in such a condescending way and not even question whether or not you're a acting like an asshole. Take your shitty attitude somewhere else.
You're assuming experts are always in charge of government agencies and I don't think that's true. Government always runs at least partially on the honor system, hoping that voters will punish those who abuse the public trust. We don't do that anymore. They abuse our trust and we reelect them anyway.
Technically their interpretation is correct, laws should be explicitly enumerated by the legislative branch which has the most accountability to voters. We're all just so desensitized to the fact that Congress is a wasteland of gridlock and special interest money that we don't even expect them to do the job of creating laws anymore. If we had a working legislative branch this would be a gentle reminder for them to be thorough and use detailed language when crafting legislation, instead it's a depressing reminder that our government quite literally cannot function without outsourcing the central function of one of the main branches.
That's not the take you should come away from this story with. None of them should be allowed to do it.
You served your purpose Joe. You saved us from Trump in 2020. I wish you would have done it 6 months ago but it's time to make as graceful an exit as you can. America has to persevere or succumb to fascism and I feel you're making the latter more likely. It may feel like abandoning your post but it's for the good of the nation. We need to look forward and you only remind us of the past. Please pass the baton.
Why doesn't anyone call him out on lying about running for a second term? I very vividly remember hearing him say in 2020 that he would not seek reelection and yet here we are.
Honest question, what's there to be hyped about? I haven't ever looked into its feature set because it looks like ass. Do people just like the Tesla name or what?
Fair enough. Like I said, I had no context initially and it struck me as odd. Do what you feel like you need to do.
This is just a random suggested post for me so I have no context as to who this is or where this screenshot came from. However, it seems like your mood would improve if you started to ignore this person. There's no reason to seek out any form of interaction with someone who makes you feel the way you described here unless you know them personally and I don't think that's the case. There's nothing wrong with venting but that's usually for things / people you are required to interact with. This seems voluntary and unnecessary.
You obviously don't have to take my advice but I would encourage you to at least ponder the question "why am I paying attention to this person?"
Everyone knows, no one does anything, and on and on it goes
I'm not sure if this is a quirk of perspective or an admission that you shove your face too far in your food but it's funny either way.
What's there to learn that isn't already widely known? Existing (copyright) laws are asinine and all corporations eventually become consumed by greed. That's America in a nutshell.
Nice, it should be even easier to sneak a chicken past a guy in a wheelchair.
Filter by community default language
Can we add the option to exclude communities and/or posts that are in a different language than our chosen default? I'm guessing filtering communities would be easier than individual posts but I'm not sure how language would be flagged. I understand some people may want to see some of these posts but even multilingual people must be bombarded with posts in languages they don't speak. I'm getting pretty annoyed that half of my feed is stuff I can't read.
I've looked through the settings multiple times but I suppose it's still possible this already exists and I just missed it.
