I agree with most of what you said. However, this poster seems to be framing this particular issue as an example of men enforcing a double standard on women. If that's not what they intended to convey then they should choose a different way to express their idea that better communicates the intended message.
I think what you're saying is a reasonable take. I'm just not sure that's how unreasonable people see the situation and that's what we're dealing with. So much of this is uncharted territory that I don't think we can rely on how things should play out.
If Trump doesn’t get elected, he can’t weasel out of his legal problems, which is his only way out of them.
In normal times you're absolutely correct. However, this isn't a traditional election. I think it's pretty clear that they're not planning on letting something like losing the election stop them from gaining power. November 5th is not the end of the war it's the start of the next battle.
You are right that voting is the best thing people can do to help us win between now and then though. We just need to be prepared to do more. Every American needs to consider the question "how much am I willing to risk to maintain democracy?" because it is more likely now than at any point in our lives that more will be required of us.
Congrats on the win. Short lived or not, it sounds like you needed one. I hope you get many more.
We're so fucking stupid
That question summarizes most of the problems in the US pretty damn well.
Like so many world issues, without a meaningful enforcement mechanism this is a pointless question to ask. Not to mention the added layer of irony in threatening to take military action to force a lower level of military activity.
How many of you disgusting perverts beat your meat standing up? I feel like this could be another version of the 'wiping with toilet paper' debacle where those on the standing and sitting sides can't comprehend how the other does it.
There's zero chance Trump can swing a golf club faster than someone 12 years younger and in much better shape than him. Even so, club speed is pretty far from the most important aspect of golf.
However, the funniest part of that post is that he thinks calling out low club speed is a sick burn to hit someone with that most people can relate to. That's so out of touch he might as well be trying to talk trash by saying Cuban's mansion only has 8 bathrooms in it.
Funny stuff. I would use it as a sort of dream test as well. If I could open the menu then I knew it was a dream. If it was an OK dream I'd just go back to it. Hasn't happened in a long time though
Tell that to all the gay frogs I heard coughing in the woods last night
I'm pretty even-keeled most of the time so I guess ChillMatt
I think so but I'm pretty sure most people think too highly of themselves so I don't know how much that opinion is worth lol
That's crazy. I have told that story to a couple people and they just looked at me like I'm nuts.
You know what's even weirder? My name is Matt too 🤯
That's hilarious because I've done the same exact thing before except it was the watch menu from the Goldeneye Nintendo64 James Bond game. It worked for several years as a young lad.
That's pretty clearly just a disclaimer meant to shield them from legal repercussions. They know people aren't going to do that.
They may be threatening to unionize over low pay but I bet a pizza party will clear that right up.
Isn't the max political donation supposed to be like $1300? I'm not looking to start a discussion about the specific loopholes they're using to skirt that rule. I'm confident that would only be depressing. I just find it insane that it's clear enough what is happening that a headline like this can be written without being cause for either a libel suit against the author or criminal campaign finance charges being brought against this billionaire. We're all just like "yep, that's where we are now".
Filter by community default language
Can we add the option to exclude communities and/or posts that are in a different language than our chosen default? I'm guessing filtering communities would be easier than individual posts but I'm not sure how language would be flagged. I understand some people may want to see some of these posts but even multilingual people must be bombarded with posts in languages they don't speak. I'm getting pretty annoyed that half of my feed is stuff I can't read.
I've looked through the settings multiple times but I suppose it's still possible this already exists and I just missed it.
