  • Is this really the first time we've seen that? I seem to remember seeing an image like that in a magazine in the 90s. The checkerboard floor was memorable and made it clear it was a demo mode that didn't make it into the final game.

  • If forced to choose one retro console forever what would you choose and why?
  • I'd have to go with one of the kings of backwards compatibility to have a huge library; the original PS3 for its PS1/PS2 backwards compatibility, GBA SP for its GB/GBC backwards compatibility, or Wii U for its Wii and Virtual Console compatibility. Of those, I'd probably pick Wii U.

  • X, formerly known as Twitter, will begin charging new users $1 a year to access key features including the ability to tweet and retweet
  • This will really do a lot of harm, to Twitter as the Town square, to Twitter helping oppressed people.

Twitter hasn't been effective at either or those things for years. This will make it worse, but at this point it's not that much worse than it already is.

  • Microsoft wants to move Windows fully to the cloud
  • This is way worse than Chromebooks. Chromebooks are focused on the web browser, but all the software still runs locally. The article describes the Windows in a cloud thing like you're constantly connecting to a remote desktop session. Chromebooks can work offline. As this is being described, you couldn't.
