Twitter announces read limits
  • Sounds like a tiered subscription is incoming. My hope is that Twitter implodes completely instead of just becoming a right wing echo chamber like it's trending towards now.

  • RIP RIF
  • Now for Reddit is going to stay open but I don't suspect it will be for long. Reading his post I don't think he has a firm grasp of what it's going to look like working within reddits cogs.

  • Lawyer Dies After Shot By His Own Concealed Gun Triggered By MRI Scanner
  • They should sue the lawyer. It costs ALOT of money to power down and power back up an MRI machine.

  • What piece of kit or setup represents the pinnacle of your hobby/profession?
  • I've had mine for 5 years. They're close to not being waterproof anymore but they got good soles so I'm holding on :D

  • Reddit is restoring deleted posts and comments
  • I deleted my top posts manually a week ago and they haven't popped back up so I wonder if it is because people are using bots.

  • What piece of kit or setup represents the pinnacle of your hobby/profession?
  • Boots. Good quality boots. Nothing worse than being on a 10+ mile trail and realizing your boots are digging into all the wrong places.

  • Made a post on r/ModCoord yesterday why mods should keep their subs closed no matter what. it reached the top of the sub then it got removed lol
  • People joke about being addicted to reddit but imagine the mods. They are probably the most addicted/invested out of everyone to want to provide such services for from. Super proud of the mods who didn't crack but not surprised that so many either just protested for show or buckled under slight pressure.

  • YSK Defibrillators doesn't restart a stopped heart
  • No problem! I've worked ICU for 10 years and have zapped patients in just about every way possible lol.

  • YSK Defibrillators doesn't restart a stopped heart
  • Just to clarify your post because there is enough confusion as it is. Atrial fibrillation is not a rhythm we defibrillate. While it can be dangerous it is not a deadly rhythm but could definitely deteriorate into one if there is unchecked rapid ventricular response. Even then we don't defib afib, we cardiovert it or use medical management. Underneath the mess there is an intrinsic heart beat you don't want to disturb. If you defib afib you will likely cause more harm than good

The only rhythms we defibrillate are ventricular fibrillation and pulseless vtach.

We do not use any electricity for asystole or pulseless electrical activity.

We cardiovert afib and supraventricular tachycardia.

Shock is a term used loosely but I wanted to further clarify so people won't run around shaking their fist that no one is defibrillating their afib.

  • How do I tell my neighbours the windows in their bathroom are not frosted enough?
  • You don't have to say "Hey, I can see your dang-a-lang" but maybe something like "Hey, you might want to frost your window more because I can almost see my reflection in your mirror" might work.

  • It's happened more than once, for sure
  • I still don't know what I'm doing so I'm sure this will happen a lot.

  • Yes, I had troubles too but probably had a lot to do with the influx so I won't hold it against them. I did however land on mastodon because it wasn't experiencing issues which I like a lot. Today has been the first day kbin has been usable for me so we'll see!
