What's the difference between upvoting the post in the feed and upvoting the OP after clicking on the post?

Shouldn't these be the same thing? Or am I missing something? Often I will click a post in the feed, read it, and then decide it's valuable and want to upvote it. But then I have to go back to the feed and upvote it. Seems unnecessary, and extra clicks.

PSA: You can hide read posts
  • Does this mean just having read the OP? So if there are new comments it still won't show?

If so, is there a way to hide posts where there have been no new posts since I last opened it?

  • What makes a concert great for you?
  • If I can feel the band enjoying themselves, it really makes it for me. Being a musician myself, I thrive on seeing the interaction between the band members, mistakes, improvs, and variations that make it into the show.

If you're just up there playing the album, it's tough for me to get into.

  • My favorite guitar I own, whats yours?
  • I got this 1962 ES-330 from a former co-worker. He bought it new. He had brought it into the office several years ago, and the way it sang, I made him promise that if he ever sold it, I'd get first dibs. Well that day came 2 years ago, and it's mine now.

  • My guitar corner

Here's my little guitar corner that I've whittled down over the years. Taylor acoustics, a Les Paul, a sick 1962 ES-330, and some random fun toys, including a LP BYO Guitar build I did in Pelham Blue that I probably like better than the real LP.

    Finishing before cutting joinery?

So I'm building a table similar to this Four Eyes design. The legs are assembled and the top is cut to size. I'm thinking about spraying finish before cutting the final domino shapes for the standoffs between the legs and top.

Any reason I shouldn't do this? Seems like it would be easier to cut them after finishing, so I don't have to mask it off, and I can just expose unfinished wood for the glue up.

Fun pic from Hartford last night

Interesting set, a little unusual, but a fun time as always.
