connect stereo mix out to interface (Roland S-1, etc.)
  • I guess you could check out the S-1's manual to see if the signal without effects is mono. That's what I'd do. Then if so just take the left output and use that. Otherwise you could also get a patchbay like the Samson S-Patch plus, then just patch in whatever you're recording at any given time. I use one of those with my interface and it's very handy. If the S-1's manual doesn't say if the signal without effects is mono, you could always record it in stereo and phase flip one side to see if it nulls out. Then you'd know for sure. I dunno if any of that answers your question, but I hope it helped a bit!

  • Apple introduces M4 chip
  • Agreed! My trusty little M1 air has been my absolute favorite computer I've ever owned. It's just so darned capable and entirely silent. It does everything I need it to do and then some. I'll upgrade sometime, but for now long live the wedge!

  • Dating app Bumble will no longer require women to make the first move | CNN Business
  • One thing I'll say about the old model was that out of all the dating apps, Bumble was the only one where every woman who I met or even just messaged with could hold a conversation. That one requirement of them reaching out first set the bar, and I knew they were making the choice to speak to me out of all the other guys they were drowning in. I ended up with more dates through Bumble than any other app, and even made great friends with some people I didn't romantically click with. Online dating is awful, or was for me, but Bumble was the least awful one of the bunch. The new model sounds not so great.

  • Ergo build, wireless Lily58 with GMK Dots and JWK T1s by deakibalint
  • Gorgeous! How do you feel about the default layout? I've looked at these, but haven't pulled the trigger on a purchase yet. I'm a Preonic user, so the arrow placement seems weird, but I'm curious what you think.

  • I used an ergodox for a while after I was getting some wrist pain related to using a keyboard way too much, and I think it helped me to achieve a more comfortable and variable typing position. YMMV, of course, but it did help me.

  • Recommend me some Quality of Life Android applications
  • Which qualities would you like to improve?

I use a regular Pixel 6 pro, but there are a few things I keep around to improve the q.o.l. for using android itself.

    • Nova launcher to simplify things a bit and give me more search engine options

    • Firefox as my default browser with ad blocking add-ons to maintain some sanity

    • Solid Explorer to do file system stuff

    Built in stuff:

    • Bedtime mode is a nice reminder to stop and go to bed

    • Focus mode is nice to stop casual social app usage according to a schedule

    • Flip to Shhh is great for... shushing. When flipped.

    • Do Not Disturb is my default mode. Only to be turned off when I'm actively awaiting interaction.

    • Notifications turned off for almost everything, always.
