NetBSD can now run on Nintendo Wii
In the most recent blog post on NetBSD, they said:
> And as an (unexpected) bonus support for the Nintendo Wii has been added to the evbppc port.
Looks like they have instructions on how to run it in the mailinglist https://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-powerpc/2024/01/27/msg003636.html and a video of it as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-MShCcFm_w.
It's exciting that the WII can potentially be used for general computing tasks.
hell yeah!
Amazing! I hope it makes it to OpenBSD as well soonish
Amazing thank you for the tips! You're an inspiration!
Amazing stuff! I've been doing the same when I run into an old laptop from a friend or family I try to fix it up and give it to someone else. Where do you get your ewaste stuff to fix?
Haven't tried yunohost unfortunately I think I chose FreedomBox because it was built-in with Debian. Do you use yunohost yourself?
I haven't used it that long but it seems like I do have the control if I want to! Like for example I configured rspamd to obfuscate IP addresses in the logs (other people use this server so I don't want to see the subjects of their emails), and I also installed plugins for Roundcube as well to enable sieve filtering. I'm inexperienced though perhaps you're referring to something else when it comes to control?
FreedomBox is amazing!
I've been using FreedomBox with a few friends for about two months now, and it's been wonderful. I set up a little server for friends and family, and I love that it lets people like me who don't have as much self-hosting experience to get started quickly.
Has anyone here tried it?
It's such a great feature I use it all the time!
Yeah! If you can support them they recently made this page! https://rsadowski.de/sponsor/
