Do new threads created on Kbin get propagated to Lemmy instances? Or is only the reverse true?
  • I don't see any other comments on the thread, though I see a comment count of 5 as of this comment. So, sorry I didn't see your other post.

  • Lemmy as a project has suffered all month because Lemmy.ml has not been sharing critical logs from Nginx and Lemmy's code logging itself
  • Are you gaslighting me,m intimidating me as a human person, dehumanizing me?

Yes I was trying to do exactly all those things, you got me.

And I'm autistic too. That doesn't preclude you from having a superiority complex or just being an asshole.

  • What is something good happening in your city/town/local area?
  • Rail trails are amazing tbf, there's one right that passes across the street from me, it goes 30 miles west to Lake Michigan.

  • Is a VPN necessary for torrenting?
  • I've been torrenting in the US for a decade and a half without a VPN, including as a kid on my parents network LOL, and only got warnings, maybe once every couple years. Tons of copyrighted materials. ATT then Charter, YMMV.

  • has anyone tried out lemmynade as a lemmy app?
  • Thanks for sharing! I like it so far, though I logged in but it was still saying I need to login before upvoting and commenting

My city redesign our downtown roads to have a whole bunch of horrible one ways in the 50s, and we are FINALLY changing back to how it was while making improvements like bike lanes. The first attempt at bike lanes with the current layout was horrible, basically death traps everywhere... Hoping for something better this time, lol. And more colored road lines, I like colored road lines.

It would be cool to have Lemmy pen pals. Asklemmy, what are your hobbies and what's your life like?
  • I'm a 28 yo trans woman and switched careers from arts admin to data science in healthcare. I'm learning UE5 in the hopes of realizing a game idea (city-builder/resource manager on a floating Rubik's cube).

Special interests change regularly and include: electrical engineering, software development, anything space / cosmology / physics, sewing, piano, etc... It's a problem.

I adopted to cats Shadow Lady and Stinky Jane last year and they are everything to me.

Anti-hobbies include eating, partying, public speaking, and dancing.

  • I really like it here. However, almost 90% of my feed is either posts about Reddit, or Lemmy/kbin meta analysis. We need actual content and communities over here!
  • Also trying to do my part by posting / commenting when I normally would've written something then deleted my comments.. this is good motivation to participate :)

  • is anyone else just learning now that Betelgeuse is pronounced like "Beetlejuice"?

Not going to describe how I would've tried to pronounce it...

Is there any way to give more importance to small communities on the home page?
  • Maybe add a weight to each community based on its activity relative to the user's other subscriptions, and use that when creating the feed. I really need to dive into the codebase..

  • it has become second nature to open Jerboa instead of Infinity and I love that

(not because of Infinity obv, it's an amazing reddit app)
