Just a normal night
  • You might already know this, but letting cats play with loose pieces of rope is kind of dangerous. My friend had a really expensive cat operation because the lil guy ate the entire rope and it screwed up his intestines.

    Super cute though.

  • What is a good second career?
  • Some friends of mine in new Zealand had their own company growing and selling lily's and other plants. Became a huge thing, bought a huge house. A decade ago they sold their entire company and went to picking strawberries. They just pick strawberries all day every day, and they love it. I was pretty jealous. So maybe you could stay in your field but just a completely different position. You'll already have connections and experience.

  • Mood check!!

  • Would you recommend a bread maker?
  • Just to add on this, I've had some very bad experiences with second hand bread makers. Many people use it a ton in the first year and then let it gather dust somewhere. The problem is that usually there is a rubber drive belt somewhere within, which might become brittle from the change from being moist to super dry. I've disassembled some, and this was a problem twice, completely disintegrated drive belt. Just fyi.

  • Tips for buying a camper in Auckland?

    Hi everyone,

Me and my SO are flying on Monday to your beautiful country to drive around in a campervan for 3 months. We booked 3 great walks, and are super excited to check out your nature, culture, wines and dines.

I am a little bit anxious to buying a campervan though. Like, what if takes weeks to find a good one? What if we find a good one after some days which breaks down a few days afterwards? You know, standard stuff.

If any of you have any tips for buying a used 2-birth campervan around Auckland, I'd love you forever. Is it better to go to a dealer, or get one from Trademe or Facebook? Should we wait a few days to get the AA pre-purchase check? Which dealers are good or infamously bad?

    Thanks!
